About The Position

Parker University, the fourth-fastest growing college in Texas and the fastest-growing college in Dallas, is currently searching for a HR Generalist - Talent and Engagement to join our rapidly expanding team! We are seeking individuals who desire to use their unique skills to innovate and make an impact. The HR Generalist – Talent & Engagement is responsible for leading talent acquisition, employee engagement, onboarding, employee communications, and employee experience initiatives. This position partners with hiring managers to attract and retain top talent while fostering a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted HR partner to employees and managers and plays a key role in strengthening employee engagement, organizational culture, and workforce effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of recruiting, employee engagement, human resources, or related areas.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment practices, HR processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment activities for staff, faculty, and student positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and hiring plans.
  • Source, screen, and coordinate candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manage candidate communications and ensure a positive applicant experience.
  • Coordinate interviews, selection activities, references, and hiring recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for critical positions.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics and recommend process improvements.
  • Lead and coordinate New Employee Orientation (NEO).
  • Design and enhance onboarding programs to improve employee integration and retention.
  • Partner with departments to ensure successful onboarding experiences.
  • Develop onboarding communications, resources, and materials.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives designed to enhance workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Coordinate employee recognition and appreciation programs.
  • Support employee feedback efforts, including surveys, focus groups, exit interviews, and stay interviews.
  • Report engagement trends and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Assist with implementation of employee wellness and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation of HR programs that support university goals and employee engagement.
  • Develop and distribute HR communications related to programs, policies, benefits, engagement activities, and organizational initiatives.
  • Create employee-facing content for newsletters, announcements, and HR campaigns.
  • Support communication strategies that promote transparency and employee awareness.
  • Coordinate employee development and learning initiatives in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Assist with training logistics, communications, participation tracking, and event coordination.
  • Support leadership development and employee development programs.
  • Assist with employee relations initiatives focused on employee experience and workplace effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support on routine employee matters.
  • Refer complex employee relations concerns to appropriate HR leadership.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.
