Join us as an HR Generalist/Recruiter! We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with strong full-cycle recruiting skills to support the entire employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding to employee engagement, HR administration, and day-to-day employee support. This role is essential in fostering a positive employee experience and ensuring alignment with organizational culture, cooperative values, and business goals. Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op
  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • 2–4 years of proven HR Generalist experience required; 3+ years preferred
  • Strong background in full-cycle recruiting and managing high-volume or hard-to-fill roles
  • Experience in a fast-paced retail, grocery, or multi-site environment strongly preferred
  • An active HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
  • The ability to competently use standard office equipment and computer/web-based platforms, such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is required; experience with Paylocity strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting leave management administration (FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, time management, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, professionalism, and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • The ability to sit for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours/day).
  • Reliable transportation to travel between stores as needed; personal automobile preferred.
  • Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support workforce planning.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for a wide range of roles, including hard-to-fill positions.
  • Post and manage job openings across multiple platforms.
  • Screen candidates using behavioral and competency-based methods.
  • Coordinate interviews and manage applicant tracking systems.
  • Facilitate offer extensions and support hiring managers through the selection process.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including background checks, reference checks, and new-hire documentation.
  • Coordinate and lead 2–3 new hire orientation sessions per month.
  • Ensure smooth offboarding, including exit interviews and final documentation.
  • Recommend and support employee engagement initiatives, including recognition efforts, surveys, and communication activities
  • Partner with HR leadership to strengthen workplace culture and employee experience.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Assist with conflict resolution, escalating issues appropriately
  • Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Manage HRIS data, including updates for hires, terminations, pay changes, and timecard management.
  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation claims, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Ensure labor law postings and required notices remain current and accessible.
  • Serve as the HR representative on the Safety Committee, supporting compliance and communication.
  • Apply ACA knowledge to support compliance and reporting requirements.
