About The Position

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s risk management, compliance, and employee experience functions. This position is responsible for administering Workers’ Compensation, Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, and workplace accommodations, while also partnering with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to support employee relations (ER) matters as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable navigating sensitive and confidential situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in LOA, Workers’ Compensation, or employee relations
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation regulations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Workers Compensation Specialist, who oversees claim management and handles all communication with carriers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding Workers’ Compensation inquiries, next steps, and expectations throughout the process
  • Manage the return-to-work process, including coordination of light-duty assignments, monitoring restrictions, and partnering with supervisor and HRBPs to ensure safe reintegration.
  • Track claims trends to drive appropriate solutions that will decrease overall costs
  • Collaborate closely with LOA Specialist, who oversees all leave claim management, eligibility determinations, and communication with leave administrators.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding leave processes, timelines, required documentation, and policy questions.
  • Facilitate interactive conversations to ensure employees understand expectations before, during, and after their leave
  • Support managers in preparing for employee absence, including planning coverage and understanding job protection requirements
  • Coordinate return-to-work communication, including clearance documentation and any temporary or permanent accommodations needed upon return
  • Manage the interactive process for ADA and disability accommodations; support with any other accommodations including religious, flexible work requests, etc.
  • Review requests and partner with managers and HRBPs to evaluate reasonable accommodations
  • Ensure documentation is complete, compliant, and appropriately stored
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to support employee relations casework, including investigations, escalated concerns, and performance-related matters
  • Assist with intake of concerns, documentation, fact-finding, and follow-up steps as directed
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
  • Support audits, reporting, and data integrity initiatives
  • Assist in updating HR policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility
  • Provide responsive, high-quality service to employees, managers, and HR team members
