About The Position

The HR Generalist I serves as an entry-level Human Resources professional supporting daily HR operations within a manufacturing environment. Working under the guidance of HR leadership, this role assists with employee lifecycle activities, onboarding, training coordination, HR administration, employee inquiries, and compliance-related tasks. The HR Generalist I develops foundational HR knowledge while providing support to employees and leaders and helping ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist I is expected to learn HR processes, build business acumen, and gradually develop the skills necessary to handle increasingly complex employee and organizational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-2+ years of Human Resources, administrative, internship, or related professional experience.
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources principles and practices.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and detailed instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and build knowledge across HR functional areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment preferred.
  • Exposure to HR processes, employee service activities, recruiting, onboarding, or administrative support preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and HR systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees and managers with routine HR questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices.
  • Support onboarding activities including new hire orientation, document collection, system transactions, and employee integration activities.
  • Maintain employee personnel files, HR records, and required documentation in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle activities including transfers, promotions, status changes, and separations.
  • Support attendance tracking and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate training activities, maintain training records, and assist with compliance-related training requirements.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and site-wide employee events and programs.
  • Support recruiting and hiring activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding coordination.
  • Conduct routine audits of HR records and assist with compliance reporting requirements.
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce metrics, and other administrative documentation as requested.
  • Escalate employee relations concerns and policy issues to HR leadership for guidance and resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information and sensitive business matters.
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
