About The Position

The HR Generalist & Handbook Specialist partners directly with client organizations to review, update, and maintain employee handbooks and related workplace policies. This role ensures all documents accurately reflect current state and federal laws, align with HR best practices, and support a compliant and positive work environment across multiple locations nationwide. In addition to policy and compliance responsibilities, this position provides general HR administrative support typically associated with an HR Assistant role. Duties may include maintaining employee records, supporting onboarding and offboarding, preparing HR documents and correspondence, assisting with background checks and employment verifications, tracking required forms and acknowledgments, responding to routine employee and client questions, and helping ensure HR systems and files remain accurate and current. This position works closely with clients, internal HR leaders, and legal partners to provide clear guidance regarding policy updates, regulatory changes, and documentation requirements. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Human Resources, particularly within compliance, HR operations, or employee relations.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret or learn state and federal employment laws
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and deadlines
  • High attention to detail and comfort reviewing precise policy language
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and policy clarification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools
  • Minimum of one year of Human Resources experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • HRCI certified (PHR, SPHR, GPHR, etc.) or SHRM certified (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience creating, administering, and managing HR policies and programs in a complex organizational environment.
