About The Position

The HR Generalist – Benefits is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, supporting wellness initiatives, assisting with onboarding and orientation, and serving as a resource for employees regarding benefit-related questions and concerns. The HR Generalist – Benefits works closely with employees, benefit providers, payroll, and hospital leadership to ensure accurate administration of benefits and HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and providing exceptional customer service. In addition to benefits responsibilities, the Benefits Specialist serves as the backup to the Payroll Clerk, supporting payroll processing on a quarterly basis and during absences.

Requirements

  • Experience with HRIS systems and employee benefits platforms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with employees and external providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, human resources, or a related area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA, FSA, retirement plans, and COBRA.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, eligibility, coverage questions, and claim resolution.
  • Coordinate new hire benefit enrollment, employee changes, and offboarding processes.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment planning and administration.
  • Maintain accurate benefit and employee data within the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Coordinate benefit-related payments and deductions with Payroll and Accounts Payable.
  • Plan, promote, and support employee wellness programs and engagement activities.
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, employee records management, and HR compliance activities.
  • Support performance management processes, including distribution and tracking of annual review documentation.
  • Input benefit data into payroll systems and prepare check requests for benefit-related deductions.
  • Process payroll quarterly and in the absence of the Payroll Clerk.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date employee benefit files.
  • Maintain and update benefit-related policies and procedures.
  • Complete annual Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance filings.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department while maintaining strict confidentiality.
