About The Position

The HR Generalist provides support for core human resources operational functions, with a primary focus on benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding assistance, HRIS data management, and compliance activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance across HR processes while serving as a professional and approachable resource for employee benefit related inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Operations experience relevant to the duties of this role
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience processing FMLA, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and other leave programs.
  • Experience using and maintaining HRIS systems; recent hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Copilot, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in a remote work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a government contracting environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting compliance audits highly desired.
  • Knowledge of multi-state employment compliance.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CBP) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR operational processes in accordance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with emphasis on compliance, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain Form I-9 processing and E-Verify compliance in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support required compliance reporting and audits, including government contractor and benefits-related obligations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant employee records in the HRIS in accordance with record retention requirements.
  • Support day-to-day benefits administration, including Open Enrollment, Qualified Life Events, and leave administration, in compliance with applicable plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to employee benefits inquiries and escalate complex issues to the HR Operations Manager, carriers, or benefits brokerage partners as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure benefit deductions and contributions are accurate and timely.
  • Support new hire onboarding activities, including employment documentation, system setup, and orientation support, in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Support offboarding processes, including separation documentation, system access removal, and coordination with HR Business Partners.
  • Maintain administrative tracking related to onboarding milestones and separation activities to support compliance and reporting needs.
  • Enter, update, audit, and maintain employee data in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Support data integrity initiatives, reporting preparation, and system accuracy for compliance and operational reporting.
  • Monitor shared HR and Benefits inboxes and respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Route complex requests to appropriate team members and track inquiries through resolution to ensure closure and documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of HR metrics, dashboards, and required filings to support compliance and leadership reporting.
  • Participate in HR Operations projects and other duties as assigned.
