About The Position

This role serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to leaves of absence, accommodation requests, and ADA requirements. The position involves preparing, maintaining, and auditing data within the HRIS system, specifically UKG, ensuring accuracy for employee status updates, terminations, leaves, and benefits. The HR Generalist will investigate and assist employees with leave-related matters, including carrier inquiries, and will communicate regularly with various stakeholders such as office managers, district managers, and payroll regarding leaves, modified work schedules, and benefits. A key responsibility includes developing and delivering training on leaves of absence to the management team, identifying best practices for administration, tracking, and process improvement. The role also requires coordination with third-party brokers, vendors, and insurance carriers to ensure timely notifications and accurate communications. Additionally, the HR Generalist will document standard work for multi-state leave processing and collaborate with the project management team on training opportunities. The position also entails willingness to support overall HR functions with additional tasks.

Requirements

  • 3 years of HR in benefits and leave administration role required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with protected health information (PHI).
  • Highly motivated, able to handle multiple activities, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Data entry and auditing of supplementary payments calculation and auditing.
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) and HRIS systems.
  • Previous leave management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information to third party vendors, employees, management team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and compassion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for leave related inquiries, accommodation requests, ADA requirements, reporting and escalates to HR Manager & legal to review as needed.
  • Prepare, maintain, and conduct audits, ensuring data integrity in the HRIS system (UKG) with data audits, leave reports, and employee status updates related to terminations, leaves, benefits, and other program tracking.
  • Investigate, respond, and assist employees with leaves, including carrier inquiries.
  • Communicate ongoingly with office managers, district managers, payroll, and other key stakeholders regarding leave, modified work schedules, and benefits, while managing the end-to-end process.
  • Develop and deliver training on leaves of absence for the management team and continuously identify best practices for administration and tracking and process improvement.
  • Coordinate with third-party brokers, vendors, insurance carriers, etc. to ensure timely notifications and accurate communications.
  • Document standard work for leaves processing across multi-states and work with the project management team to determine training opportunities.
  • Take on additional HR tasks to support the overall HR functions.
