About The Position

Play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with employment verification processes for the college district. Manage I-9 documentation, conduct audits, and support the HR Employment department with various filings. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently while interacting with a diverse employee population

Requirements

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Associate degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of recent, directly related interviewing/recruitment experience OR any equivalent related combination of training and experience.
  • At least sixty (60) undergraduate credit hours and two (2) additional years of directly related experience.
  • This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central point of contact for I-9 compliance, managing documentation for all new hires, including faculty, staff, and student employees.
  • Process I-9 forms weekly and participate in new hire orientation sessions to verify employment eligibility.
  • Upload and maintain records using Workday and E-Verify.
  • Conduct regular I-9 audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and prepare detailed reports for internal and external audits.
  • Review and audit Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and visa statuses for employees districtwide.
  • Communicate updates and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Respond to initial unemployment claims from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
  • Collaborate with HR team members to address and resolve claims efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records within the filing database related to Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR), ensuring timely tracking and reporting.
  • Resolve compliance issues by communicating with various departments within the organization.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management to support departmental goals and compliance initiatives.
