Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in disability and leave management, including administration of employee leave programs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, STD, LTD, and related benefit programs.
  • Experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and computer software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex cases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end administration of disability and leave of absence programs across the organization, including FMLA, ADA, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and related programs.
  • Manage disability and leave programs for both union and non-union employees, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Serve as a key resource for employees and leadership, providing guidance on leave policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Process and manage Short-Term Disability payments in alignment with New York Life guidelines, including payroll coordination.
  • Act as liaison between third-party FMLA administrator, employees, and management to resolve discrepancies and manage tracking.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the New York Life system, including reporting, analysis, and metrics distribution.
  • Coordinate return-to-work processes in collaboration with employees, leadership, and external partners.
  • Partner with vendors on STD and LTD administration.
  • Maintain accurate leave and return-to-work records within UKG systems.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to HR and leadership on employee leave status.
  • Deliver training and education on ADA, FMLA, PWFA, and related policies.
  • Develop and maintain communication materials related to disability and leave processes.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports and key metrics.
  • Serve as backup support for Workers’ Compensation, Risk & Safety Manager and Benefits Manager.
