About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) manages the daily operations and administrative tasks of the Elgin & Aurora plants. They handle recruiting support, new hire onboarding, employee record maintenance, benefits coordination, and compliance tracking, acting as the main point of contact for personnel questions.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or its equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of related human resources experience.
  • Clear Communication: Answering staff questions and writing professional emails.
  • Active Listening: Hearing employee concerns with empathy and discretion.
  • Scheduling candidate interviews and assisting with onboarding.
  • Treating internal employees as valued clients.
  • Organizational & Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Multitasking: Juggling recruitment tracking, training schedules, and meetings simultaneously.
  • Scheduling: Managing calendars, performance review timelines, and orientation sessions.
  • Adaptability: Learning new office or remote collaboration tools quickly.
  • Conflict Resolution: Troubleshooting unexpected daily workplace issues.
  • HRIS proficiency: Using software like Workday, BambooHR, or Rippling for data entry.
  • Records Management: Maintaining accurate digital and physical personnel files while adhering to privacy rules.
  • Payroll & Benefits Basics: Processing timekeeping, leave balances, and insurance paperwork.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Knowing basic labor laws like I-9 verification, FMLA, or local ordinances.

  • Ceridian Dayforce a plus.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare offer letters, run new hire orientations, collect required tax forms, and process exit paperwork.
  • Update personnel files and submit employee status changes to our payroll department.
  • Answer benefit and retirement plan questions, guide open enrollment, and assist with vendor billing reconciliation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee policy questions and day-to-day requests.
  • Track mandatory training, assist with internal audits, and generate basic workforce reports.
  • Prepare materials and help organize employee performance reviews.
  • Present any new or additional training materials to employees.
  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface.
  • Make sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential.
  • Abide by company-enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations.
  • Be a vital source of human resources information under the leadership of the HR Manager.
