The primary purpose of this job position is to assist the DSD/DON/Administrator in administering policies and implementing facility orientation. This role supports organizational goals and values, requiring strict confidentiality, a team-oriented approach, and self-starting initiative. The HR Coordinator will assist in organizing new employee orientation according to regulations, including philosophy and objectives of care, resident rights, safety, infection control, and facility policies and procedures. They will maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting affecting human resource functions, ensuring compliance. The position also involves assisting with recruitment and on-boarding, including candidate screening, interviews, and scheduling, as well as data entry, report preparation, and updating employment records. A key responsibility includes administering benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance programs. The HR Coordinator will collaborate with the Risk Manager on complex HR/WC cases, ensure timely scheduling and posting of in-services, and maintain attendance records. They will also assist in coordinating the safety program, scheduling health examinations, and documenting/coordinating fire and internal disaster drills. Maintaining good public relations, advertising available positions, and providing information are also part of the role. Additionally, the position may assist with payroll duties, participate in facility surveys, and develop good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel. The role requires assisting in recording and filing incidents/accidents and maintaining confidentiality of resident information. Specific payroll duties include managing workflow for accurate and timely processing, monitoring garnishments, updating payroll records, issuing paychecks or electronic transfers, preparing earnings and tax reports, processing manual checks and termination payroll, determining payroll liabilities, monitoring sick and vacation accruals, processing employment verifications, preparing payroll allocation reports, reconciling payroll accounts, and resolving discrepancies. The HR Coordinator will partner with the HRBP on complex HR cases and complete regular audits for compliance.
