About The Position

As an HR Compliance Administrator, you’ll get to ensure compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements under the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA). You’ll manage the completion, auditing, and maintenance of Form I-9 for all employees, oversee E-Verify submissions, and adherence to company and legal standards. As this is a federal requirement, this role is vital to the success of the overall business.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in HR compliance or employment eligibility verification
  • Familiarity with E-Verify and electronic I-9 systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects at once with urgency
  • Knowledge of federal immigration and employment laws
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be Bilingual – English and Spanish

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications preferred
  • I-9 and E-Verify compliance training certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor the completion of Form I-9 for all new hires within the required timelines
  • Conduct regular audits of I-9 forms to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations
  • Manage E-Verify submissions and resolve any tentative non-confirmations (TNCs) promptly
  • Maintain secure and organized electronic and/or physical I-9 records in accordance with retention requirements
  • Provide training and guidance to HR staff and hiring managers on I-9 compliance procedures
  • Stay current on changes to immigration and employment eligibility laws and update internal processes accordingly
  • Respond to government audits or inquiries related to I-9 documentation
  • Develop and implement best practices for I-9 compliance and risk mitigation
