About The Position

This position supports HR communications and creates digital media content as requested. You will design professional visuals using Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Excellent communication skills are required to share timely, transparent information with internal and external audiences to support the Florida Department of Corrections. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate technical Web related development information effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work with other IT related support groups.
  • Knowledge of recognized industry-wide Web development techniques and software/programs.
  • Knowledge of graphical design techniques and software/programs.
  • Knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software/program.
  • Ability to produce industry standard graphics for the Web.
  • Ability to understand and write industry-wide markup languages.
  • Ability to link web pages/sites.
  • Ability to construct basic web page/site.
  • Ability to maintain and provide ongoing support of Web sites.
  • Ability to identify and communicate user needs for Web design.
  • Ability to communicate Web design related information.

Responsibilities

  • Develops formatting and graphic elements for internal communications and educational material for Department staff to ensure effective communication with the public.
  • Schedules meetings, workshops, conference calls, and discussions to review issues and programs.
  • Assists in the development of plans, presentations, studies and reports.
  • Maintains a system for tracking progress on projects to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned to support the communications team.
