About The Position

ScyllaDB is a global, remote-first company specializing in high-performance NoSQL databases. We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to manage the full US employee experience. This role involves full-cycle recruiting support, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and performance management for our US-based team. It's a high-autonomy position where you will be the main point of contact for managers and employees on all HR matters, ensuring our culture, engagement, and operational standards remain high during our growth phase. You will report to the HR Director and collaborate with GTM and technical leadership teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an HRBP and/or Talent Acquisition Partner in fast-growing tech companies or startups.
  • Solid working knowledge of US multi-state employment law and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience administering benefits and 401(k) plans through PEO platforms.
  • Strong track record in candidate sourcing across social platforms and managing hiring flows through modern ATS tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide leaders through sensitive employee relations issues with discretion, empathy, and strong judgment.
  • Highly organized and self-directed approach, capable of balancing recurring compliance requirements with fast-paced, ad-hoc team needs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Full confidence serving as the primary HR contact for the US region.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for US employees and managers.
  • Coach leaders through performance management, team structuring, career development, and complex employee relations issues.
  • Own recruiting support for open US and global roles, including partnering with hiring managers, screening CVs, conducting phone interviews, utilizing sourcing strategies, and managing external agency relationships.
  • Administer employee benefits (health, 401(k), PTO), overseeing plan transitions, open enrollment, vendor changes, and 401(k) rollovers in partnership with PEO providers.
  • Design and implement US employee well-being and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead onboarding/offboarding processes, exit interviews, and retention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with US multi-state employment laws.
  • Maintain transparent candidate and employee communications, document key meeting outcomes, and leverage HR tools (e.g., HiBob) and AI tools for workflow streamlining and data analytics.
  • Facilitate discussions around associate mapping, promotions, and skill development pathways.
