About The Position

The HR Business Partner acts as a strategic partner to business leaders by providing a wide variety of professional human resource services to management and employees of LSC. This position supports human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, succession planning, career development, change management, ethics, compliance, employee retention strategies, benefits and recruiting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years previous HR Generalist or Recruiting experience required
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to human resource management
  • Proven ability to effectively work with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, laws and regulations
  • Computer proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office Programs, applicant tracking systems, and HRIS
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track multiple activities and stay on task

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and support to leaders regarding workforce planning, culture development, organizational policies & procedures and communication of key initiatives.
  • Guide, manage and resolve complex employee relation issues including coaching, counseling and corrective action. Work closely with management to improve work relationships, drive engagement, increase productivity and retention.
  • Successfully implement projects and strategic initiatives that continue to ensure a company culture that aligns with company goals and retention of talent.
  • Lead the employee engagement survey process and corresponding companywide action planning and communication.
  • Assure accuracy of job descriptions and compensation information to support the job requisition approval process.
  • Execute full cycle recruitment for various roles cross-regionally.
  • Partner with hiring managers to evaluate talent needs and ensure acceptable staffing levels (current and future). Strategically act as bridge between business leaders and recruiting team to leverage business needs and recruiting strategies.
  • Collaboratively partner with business leaders to draw connections from the Lake Superior Consulting business strategy to our Talent Acquisition strategy and focus areas.
  • Oversee onboarding experience through coordination and facilitation of the onboarding process and orientation for new hires, may delegate or collaborate with others as needed.
  • Attend recruiting events and college fairs as needed.
  • Manage employee-focused programs: internships (post-hire), special assignment, etc.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and maintain data integrity within the company Human Resource Information systems (HRIS)
  • Assist with development of training programs for leadership.
  • Verify that company HR policies, procedures and programs are followed, and exceptions identified (performance cycle, goal setting, talent review, etc.)
  • Partner with leadership to maintain internal equity by ensuring consistency in job descriptions, salary benchmarking, and pay grade alignment across the organization. Maintain compensation system and metrics and educate business on compensation philosophy.
  • Research special projects, support the develop procedures and training programs to drive company compliance, as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with federal and state regulations
