About The Position

As an HR Business Partner with The Oncology Institute, you will play a vital role in advancing compassionate, patient-centered cancer care by supporting and empowering the people who deliver it. You’ll partner closely with clinical and operational leaders to build a resilient, engaged workforce in a mission-driven environment where every role contributes to saving and improving lives. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will work closely with leaders within your designated business unit to execute human capital and organizational strategies intended to attract, develop, and engage the teammates while advancing the organization’s business goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to develop solutions to a variety of complex HR challenges impacting your division as well as the organization. You will partner with our Teammate Services Centers of Excellence to deliver value-added service to teammates and leaders in the areas of employee relations, performance management, training & development, compensation and benefits, talent management, and employment law. You'll also serve as a coach and mentor for others within the department. This role will involve weekly local travel to our California clinics, and possible out-of-state travel.

  • Regular travel to clinics within Southern California will be required, occasional travel (15%) to clinics out of state may be required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years with at least 2 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and respective state employment laws.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Live and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units, both in-person and remotely.
  • Consults with leaders, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of teammates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and teammates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Supports merger and acquisition (M&A) activities by assisting with preparing for the transaction, onboarding new teammates, and integrating the new business unit into TOI.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
