About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as an HR Generalist
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels in an effective, tactful, and professional manner
  • Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information and always provide a positive image for the firm
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently with an understanding of when to escalate issues
  • Skilled in researching complex issues and conflict resolution; ability to interpret and apply policies, rules, or regulations
  • Ability to analyze personnel problems and recommend solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft's Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to build partnerships and influence key resources within the Firm
  • Must be able to regularly travel overnight to Weltman locations

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for employees and managers in all non-headquarters office locations.
  • Manage HR projects cross-functionally, such as annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensure personnel records, such as new hire information, I-9s, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting, are maintained in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Actively identify gaps, proposes improvements, and implements approved HR updates/revisions to policies and procedures.
  • Educate supervisors/managers on applicable employment laws to ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve employee conduct and performance issues, including counseling, corrective action through progressive discipline, documentation process, and employment terminations.
  • Assist supervisors/managers in developing employee recognition and motivation programs for their staff.
  • Support the full employee life cycle by conducting new-hire check-ins and exit interviews, analyzing trends, and recommending strategies to improve employee engagement, retention, and reduce turnover.
  • Assist in the planning of employee welfare events and other employee-related programs firm-wide, including summer events, holiday parties, Employee Appreciation Day, and year-end employee recognition awards.
  • Support audits by providing necessary employment information and documentation.
  • Keep abreast of current government regulations to ensure Firm compliance.
  • Serves as a Leave Administrator and act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding FMLA, other leaves of absence, and ADA accommodations, providing guidance, coordinating interactive processes, and ensuring timely, compliant, and employee-centered outcomes.
  • Conduct new hire orientation for designated office locations.
  • Administer unemployment claims by reviewing separations, responding to state agencies, and participates in hearings, while ensuring accurate representation of Firm policies to minimize risk and control costs.
  • Assist with the creation and administration of department specific and/or Firm-wide surveys.
  • Provide support to the HR team regarding administrative tasks within the learning management system.
  • Gather content for the quarterly firm newsletter and collaborates with the Marketing team for timely submission.
  • Complete all required training applicable to this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Regularly travel between Cincinnati and Columbus, usually twice a month. This includes 25-50% of time in other offices for employee relations and site-specific HR initiatives.
  • Travel to other Weltman locations at a minimum of quarterly.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.
