About The Position

Position Summary: The HR Business Partner is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions and managing the credentialing and privileging processes for physicians and advanced practice providers. This role ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies while supporting recruitment, employee relations, and provider onboarding. The position requires strong knowledge of healthcare HR operations, benefit administration, payroll processes, provider credentialing and payer enrollment, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Management: Oversee daily HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulations. Manage employee benefits administration including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and workers' compensation. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws (EEOC, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc.). Coordinate staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes. Support department managers with performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. Monitor staff credentialing and licensure requirements for clinical employees. Lead HR initiatives to support staff engagement, retention, and professional development. Provider Credentialing & Enrollment: Manage the full lifecycle of provider credentialing for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other clinical providers. Coordinate payer enrollment and revalidation with commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid. Maintain provider credentialing files and documentation including licenses, board certifications, DEA registrations, malpractice coverage, and CME records. Ensure timely submission and follow-up of credentialing and privileging applications. Track expiration dates for licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and other required documentation. Maintain provider profiles in CAQH and other credentialing systems. Work with hospital systems, surgery centers, and payers to facilitate provider privileging and network participation. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and payer requirements. Support provider onboarding, including documentation collection and credential verification. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Assist leadership with audits, regulatory inspections, and documentation requests. Maintain policies related to HR compliance and provider credentialing. Monitor updates in healthcare regulations affecting HR and credentialing. Administrative Leadership: Serve as a liaison between practice leadership, providers, and staff on HR matters. Provide HR reporting and workforce analytics to leadership. Assist with strategic workforce planning and staffing initiatives. Support organizational initiatives related to growth, provider recruitment, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of HR management experience.
  • Understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Understanding of payroll practices and benefit plans.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of healthcare credentialing processes and payer enrollment.
  • Experience with credentialing software, CAQH, and payer portals.
  • Primarily office-based work with prolonged computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of files or materials up to 20 lbs.
  • Fast-paced orthopedic practice environment.
  • Interaction with physicians, clinical staff, administrators, and external organizations.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities or meetings (less than 15%)

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare provider credentialing experience preferred.
  • Experience in a medical practice, hospital, or healthcare organization preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP
