About The Position

The Aspen Group (TAG) is a large retail healthcare business support organization that supports numerous healthcare professionals and offices across various categories including dental care, urgent care, medical aesthetics, and animal health. TAG provides centralized business support services to its consumer-facing businesses like Aspen Dental, ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, WellNow Urgent Care, Chapter Aesthetic Studio, and Lovet (formerly AZPetVet). The Lovet Pet Health Care team aims to provide better care to more pets by building a modern veterinary care experience that is convenient, financially accessible, and comprehensive. As part of TAG, Lovet is scaling nationally while maintaining a collaborative and mission-driven team environment. This HR Business Partner role supports hospital leadership across the full employee lifecycle, leveraging project management, facilitation, and communication skills to deliver talent solutions and build trusted partnerships. The role involves implementing HR and operations programs and providing strategic support in areas such as performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, onboarding, employment processing, training, safety, retention, compliance, and labor relations. This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ, requiring 70% travel to Lovet field locations.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, dynamics of employee development and professional growth, and training program design and presentation.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Supports hospital leadership (veterinarians, hospital management, and operational leaders) across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Leverages strong project management, facilitation, and communication skills to deliver impactful talent solutions, drive measurable results, and build trusted partnerships with leaders.
  • Implements human resources and operations programs and provides strategic and hands-on HR support in performance management, employee relations, workforce planning and scheduling, onboarding, employment processing, training and development, safety and health, retention, compliance, and labor relations.
  • Delivers timely HR reporting and insights to stakeholders and field teams to enable data-driven, strategic decision-making.
  • Partners with operations to drive best-practice adoption and compliance at the hospital level, aligning day-to-day execution with organizational goals.
  • Serves as a strategic thought partner and accountability coach to hospitals in achieving revenue targets, improving efficiency, and maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborates with the learning and development team to design and execute field-facing training and onboarding programs that enhance DVM and team performance.
  • Provides targeted recruitment support and helps optimize the candidate interview experience to attract and hire high-quality talent.
  • Supports hospital and operational leaders in managing staff and veterinarian performance and contributes to the design and implementation of performance management and talent management programs.
  • Conducts regular hospital visits, documents findings and action items, and communicates outcomes to ensure follow-through and measurable impact.
  • Serves as a liaison between hospitals and the practice support center, ensuring clear communication of people and culture initiatives and alignment with the organization’s strategic direction.
  • Provides guidance on employee relations and leaves of absence (including FMLA and ADAAA), ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and enhancing leader capability.
  • Acts as a brand and culture ambassador, modeling Lovet core values and coaching leaders to build a high-performance, high-engagement culture that supports retention and hospital results.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
