About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to all business units, providing HR counsel and support through day-to-day HR activities. The role requires broad knowledge and experience of HR practices and supports managers and employees on employee relations, policies, benefits, compliance, training, and HR initiatives. The position is safety sensitive and requires up to 20% travel.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience coaching management on employee relations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Current driver's license.

Nice To Haves

HR certification, preferred (SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR).

Responsibilities

Coach and advise managers on performance management, discipline, terminations, reward and recognition, and retention strategies.
Advise and coach management on resolving complex employee relations issues.
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Inform employees about benefits programs, including life, health, dental, and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and employee assistance.
Partner with HR management to improve processes and the internal customer experience.
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day people management to reduce legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Deliver predetermined training to ensure compliance with federal and local guidelines.
Support a variety of HR initiatives.
