Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent job-related experience, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record within an area of HR (Compliance, leave and/or policy administration, Labor/Employee relations, L&D, etc.)
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or comparable operational environment.
  • Advanced analytical and Microsoft Excel skills, with ability to interpret HR metrics and develop data-based recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) with the ability to influence and partner across all levels.
  • Critical‑thinking and problem‑solving capability, especially in employee relations contexts.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to improving HR processes and employee experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of employment law, labor regulations, and HR compliance, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, interpret, and report HR trends and metrics, providing insights to guide decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance by administering HR policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage leave administration processes, including FMLA, PFL, STD, and Workers’ Compensation, while providing guidance and support to employees.
  • Oversee Social Performance / Risk Management activities
  • Assist in Union labor relations efforts
  • Lead the Apprenticeship Program, fostering growth and professional development for emerging talent.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, managing and executing impactful DEI initiatives that support a culture of belonging.
  • Partner with managers and employees to enhance work relationships, support conflict resolution, and improve morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Oversee Training and Development programs, including planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and labor relations, ensuring consistent application across the site.
  • Manage HR systems and transactions, ensuring data integrity and efficient HR processes.
  • Oversee HR compliance activities, including internal and external audits.
  • Model Alcoa’s safety values and champion a safety‑first culture.
  • Support compliance with all safety procedures, standards, and safe‑work practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when addressing safety‑related employee issues.
