About The Position

Talen Energy is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the HR Team at the Susquehanna nuclear power plant near Berwick, PA. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing strategic and hands-on HR support in a highly regulated environment. The HRBP is responsible for delivering a broad range of human resources services in close collaboration with corporate and local HR teams. This position supports organizational success through expertise in employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and HR processes and systems. The successful candidate will build strong relationships across the organization, influence business decisions through sound HR counsel, and help foster a safe, engaged, and high-performing workforce that supports the plant's operational and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related discipline
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably supporting power generation, energy, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated Labor and Employee Relations experience, including contract and grievance administration, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to build credibility, influence leaders, establish trust, and navigate sensitive employee matters with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a highly regulated, process-driven environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization to a nuclear generating facility.

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with business leaders and employees, serving as trusted advisor on all human resources matters, policies and processes.
  • Full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles in partnership with Talent Acquisition, including workforce planning, candidate selection, onboarding and retention strategies.
  • Support the delivery and communication of compensation, benefits, and rewards programs, ensuring consistency, compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Partner with leaders to drive performance management, talent development, succession planning and retention initiatives.
  • Administer labor relations activities, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation and grievance administration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and nuclear industry regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities that enhance organizational effectiveness and support business objectives
