About The Position

About the role: WEG has an excellent opportunity for an HR Business Partner here in our Duluth office. You will serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders of assigned business unit(s), aligning people strategies with organizational goals. The HRBP partners with people leaders to drive talent management, workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives encompassing the full employee life-cycle. You provide guidance on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and change management while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. By leveraging business insight and staying abreast of current best practices, the HRBP helps build a high-performing, engaged workforce that supports overall business success and promotes a positive employee experience. The HRBP also serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in a designated HR competency area

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Broad experience across human resource disciplines such as employee relations, compensation practices, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Advanced of working knowledge of HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience including strategic partnership with business leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • HR-related certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted resource by working closely with assigned business unit people leaders and employees to provide counsel and support on all aspects of human resources and the employee life-cycle.
  • Partner with the HR team to plan, coordinate and deliver seamless human resources processes and programs across the organization that support the HR and business strategies.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on workforce planning and hiring within the business unit.
  • Partner with Total Rewards on compensation classification and benchmarking and recognition programs.
  • Oversee the annual performance management process for their business unit(s) including performance improvement when necessary.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management practices, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and/or participate in company-wide HR initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Provide SME leadership, expertise and progressive practices in assigned area of human resources discipline
  • Conduct exit interviews. Summarize and provide recommendations for potential areas of improvement.
  • Provide HR guidance and interpretation of company policies to managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Manage employee relations issues, diagnose root cause, and identify appropriate actions and interventions.
  • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance guidance to line managers and supervisors (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Respond to EEOC charges, unemployment claims and appeals. Attend hearings as required.
  • Support and champion annual requirements for Federal Contractors including EEO-1 & Vets Reporting
  • Lead all global mobility and immigration activity for assigned business units.
