About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for leading and facilitating the development and implementation of effective human resource practices at the Plant to secure and maintain a productive, diverse, and engaged workforce, to the required operational results, through effective management and execution of Human Resources policies, programs and strategies.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • 10 years within a related Human Resources role
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills to influence, mediate conflict, and coach key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to build relationships and work through people
  • Must have sound knowledge of Canadian legislation and organizational practices to develop appropriate/proactive Human Resources interventions
  • Must have strong skills with HRIS and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Must have discretion in managing confidential information and privacy concerns

Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant management to drive continual improvement of people capabilities and operational excellence through facilitation of performance management processes, recruitment and selection, orientations, rewards and total compensation, employee engagement, policy/process development, training, and communication.
  • Responsible to develop and execute plant communication to promote employee understanding of business objectives programs and policies.
  • Lead projects to further enhance the HR foundation.
  • Support site audits in the HR preparation of documentation and training.
  • Act as the conscience of the organization, keeping a pulse on organizational issues, and ensuring fair and consistent practices, in alignment with provincial and federal legislation.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and HR leading practices, thinking ahead to the future state of the company.
  • Act as a liaison between the Plant and Corporate office, elevating the site pulse/trends, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Share plant activity status with HR team members and collaborate to develop effective HR practices that are best in class and consistent across Give & Go.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and processes in site by conducting investigations to determine concerns/wrongdoing, recommend corrective action, draft discipline letters, and facilitate discipline discussions with Leaders/Employees.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the Plant Leadership Team and Employees.
  • Perform administrative work including managing employee files and keeping investigation notes/minutes.
  • Continuously improve the HR Discipline.
  • Manage performance through tracking and calculating KPIs to assess performance to identify items that require improvement and introduce new practices to course correct.
  • Partner with hiring managers to recruit and hire top talent to fill vacant or new roles within the organization.
  • Facilitate ongoing training sessions for refresher training and rollouts of new policies and procedures.
