About The Position

The Human Relations Business Partner consults with leaders and employees to identify the people strategy and provide HR partnering and solutions for specific functional teams. This position drives the direction, development and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes and training programs. The HR Business Partner also executes HR processes and programs across McCormick’s Supply Chain organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or another related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in HR or a closely related field
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership responsibility, including projects / processes
  • Strong verbal, written, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • ERP or HRIS experience
  • Experience coaching / counseling across levels and functions
  • Tact, confidentiality, diplomacy, and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience successfully managing projects and programs
  • Strong team work skills with experience collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Must occasionally wear a PAPR to perform necessary duties on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a strategic business partner providing guidance to managers in interpretation of company policies, procedures and programs consistent with McCormick’s philosophy and core values
  • Ensures an effective performance management process, coaching staff and managers on total compensation, annual reviews and workforce planning
  • Leads recruitment and selection activities including working with functional leaders to determine position requirements, preparing postings, participating in the screening and selection process, and providing feedback and guidance to hiring managers
  • Partners with the business to provide counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues, interpretation of employment laws and company policies and procedures. Applies judgment and creativity when drawing conclusions and developing solutions
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Coordinates HR processes including talent assessment, employee engagement surveys, performance management, and variable compensation planning
