As we continue to grow our US presence, we’re looking for a key hire to support both our people and business operations locally. We’re looking for an experienced HR & Business Operations Manager (US) to support our growing US team. This is a highly visible, hands-on role acting as the primary US partner for People & Culture and Operations, ensuring strong HR practices, compliance with US employment law, and smooth day-to-day business operations. Reporting to the Head of HR, People & Culture, with a dotted line into the Senior Business Operations Manager, you’ll play a critical role in enabling a high-performing, well-supported workforce.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HR Generalist, People Operations, or HR & Operations role (US)
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law and HR best practices
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with high levels of ownership
  • Confidence working independently and across time zones
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience supporting business operations or office management
  • Right to work in the United States
  • Minimum broadband speed: 25MB download / 2MB upload

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-state workforces (preferred)
  • Experience in a global or matrix organisation (highly desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for US employees on HR matters
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, performance, changes, offboarding)
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on US hiring processes
  • Support managers with performance and employee relations matters
  • Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Manage the relationship with the PEO and ensure data accuracy
  • Support benefits administration and employee queries
  • Partner with Finance on payroll inputs and benefits-related processes
  • Support day-to-day office and business operations in Austin
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships, contracts, and renewals
  • Oversee equipment and operational support for employees
  • Develop and maintain operational policies and guidelines
  • Ensure alignment with global standards while meeting local needs
  • Support internal travel and office-related logistics
  • Partner with US leaders and UK teams to ensure consistency and best practice
  • Identify and implement process improvements across HR and operations
  • Support audits, reporting, and compliance activities
