About The Position

Parc Center for Disabilities provides life-changing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our vision is a community where all individuals live with dignity and are treated with respect. We are seeking an organized, people-focused HR Associate to join our Human Resources team. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the full recruitment process – from posting open positions and screening applicants to coordinating interviews and helping new employees successfully begin their careers at Parc. The ideal candidate has hands-on recruiting experience along with some knowledge of employee benefits, FMLA and other leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys connecting people with meaningful work while continuing to expand their general HR knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to three years of HR experience preferred, with practical recruitment experience strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits, FMLA or leave administration, and workers’ compensation.
  • Experience using an HRIS or applicant tracking system; Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and a service-focused approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • A learning mindset, natural curiosity, and interest in improving HR processes.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a Level II background screening.
  • A valid Florida driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage job postings and maintain accurate information within the applicant tracking system.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate phone screens.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process and provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate interviews and partner with hiring managers to keep recruitment moving forward.
  • Prepare and track employment offers and pre-employment requirements.
  • Support onboarding and new-hire orientation, ensuring required documentation and HRIS information are completed accurately.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency and strengthen Parc’s ability to attract qualified candidates.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and procedures.
  • Support benefits administration during onboarding, employee status changes, and open enrollment.
  • Assist with tracking and documenting FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and other leaves of absence.
  • Provide administrative support related to workers’ compensation claims and required documentation.
  • Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, and separations, to support payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in Paylocity and electronic filing systems.
  • Generate HR reports and assist with audits and compliance reviews.
  • Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, HR communications, and special projects.
  • Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements.
