About The Position

The HR Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources department by managing administrative tasks and facilitating smooth HR operations. This position is responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The HR Assistant acts as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and helps coordinate training sessions and employee engagement activities. By efficiently handling day-to-day HR functions, the HR Assistant contributes to creating a positive work environment and supports the overall organizational goals. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams across the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and employment regulations in the United States.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with HR information systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The HR Assistant utilizes strong organizational and administrative skills daily to manage employee records and support recruitment efforts efficiently.
  • Communication skills are essential for interacting with candidates, employees, and management to provide clear and accurate information.
  • Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office tools enables the HR Assistant to prepare reports, track applicant data, and maintain documentation with precision.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and company policies ensures compliance and helps address employee concerns appropriately.
  • Additionally, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are applied to coordinate training sessions and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR management software.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll processing.
  • Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee records in HR databases and physical files to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate and assist with employee training sessions, performance evaluations, and company events.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist with payroll processing as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to improve processes and enhance employee experience.
