About The Position

Our client is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join their Human Resources team. This position will provide administrative and operational support across a variety of HR functions, with a strong focus on recruitment, candidate communication, HR systems, employee records, and general office support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with technology, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of related professional experience required.
  • Strong computer and technology skills, including experience with HRIS/HR systems, databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and use good judgment.
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, administrators, and other staff members.
  • Candidates will be required to provide applicable background clearances, including: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Background Check/Fingerprinting.

  • Previous Human Resources experience strongly preferred, particularly in an educational or nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment and hiring process, including scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and communicating with candidates.
  • Maintain and update employee information in HRIS systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other HR platforms.
  • Enter and verify employee information and generate reports as needed.
  • Create and update online employee forms, templates, and other HR documents.
  • Maintain accurate paper and electronic personnel files, including employment documentation, I-9 forms, clearances, and medical records.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for the Human Resources office, greeting and assisting visitors.
  • Support the planning and coordination of recruitment events and career fairs.
  • Assist with posting job openings on job boards, professional organizations, social media, colleges/universities, and other recruiting outlets.
  • Provide administrative support to other members of the Human Resources team.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Help identify and implement processes that improve the efficiency of HR operations.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented approach when interacting with employees, candidates, and visitors.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as needed.
