About The Position

AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a HPC Systems Engineer, Level 3. This is an on-site, in-person position located in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area, requiring work within a SCIF environment. The role involves developing program-level requirements management processes, establishing a requirements baseline, and contributing to systems engineering documentation. The engineer will also develop a risk management process, propose and evolve HPC Architectural Concepts, and specify, recommend, and/or analyze various aspects of HPC systems including processor/accelerator technology, interconnect performance, memory, storage, network structure, and manufacturability, reliability, availability, serviceability, and sustainability. The position also requires establishing and focusing mission application performance for each architecture concept, supported by abstract modeling where appropriate.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Ability to use the Atlassian Suite products (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Capability to use CAMEO
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+

Responsibilities

  • Develop program level requirements management process and establish a requirements baseline to tailor for each system
  • Contribute to and/or deliver systems engineering documentation at both program and system level
  • Develop risk management process to include risk management plan and risk register
  • Propose and evolve HPC Architectural Concepts and features
  • Ensure consistency with strategic plans and commercial vendor roadmaps
  • Analyze and document alternatives among competing architectures
  • Justify architectural elements based on mission applications and proxies
  • Deliver documentation of architecture, including description of unique architectural features and diagrams that illustrate structure and functions of architecture
  • Specify, recommend, and/or analyze various aspects of HPC systems including: Processor and/or Accelerator technology, features, and performance; Interconnect and network performance, fabric topology, technology, features and performance, including applicability for specific algorithms of interest; Memory capacity and bandwidth; Storage hierarchy, capacity, technology, and performance; HPC- facing network structure, technology, features, and performance; Manufacturability, reliability, availability, serviceability, sustainability
  • Establish, expand, and/or focus the mission application performance of each architecture concept, supported by abstract modeling where appropriate
