About The Position

GeoControl Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced HPC System Administrator to support the Flight Sciences Laboratory (FSL) at Johnson Space Center (JSC) on the Amentum JETS contract. The FSL is a primary compute lab for JSC, hosting a wide variety of analyses for human-spaceflight programs including ISS, Orion, SLS, Commercial Crew Program, Human Landing System (HLS), and Moon Base. The FSL systems comprise over 700 machines, 26,000 cores, and over 10 PB of storage, serving more than 1000 users. This role involves working with a team of HPC System Administrators to build and maintain FSL services, including High Performance Compute (HPC) administration, high-end Linux workstation administration, high-speed networking, and high-speed parallel filesystem administration. A deep understanding of container technologies and their application in HPC environments is desired. The System Administration Team is crucial for supporting FSL users in effectively utilizing the systems, investigating system problems, proactively monitoring system health, and ensuring users can support the NASA human spaceflight mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Linux system administration.
  • System configuration management.
  • Container Based HPC Workflows.
  • Complex CI/CD Workflows.
  • HPC job scheduler administration.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with large-scale system administration, with 2 of those years in HPC administration.
