HPC and Linux Systems Specialist The Opportunity: Your combination of people skills and on-prem system management expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. We’re looking for a candidate who specializes in HPC Linux systems to help us identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical work. As a HPC and Linux Systems Specialist on our project, you’ll maintain the current on-prem architecture and constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Join us. The world can’t wait.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with automated OS provisioning, software updates and package management, user accounts management, filesystems and access management, compiling software and kernel modules, versioning, or environment modules
  • Experience with systems automation scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and managing batch queueing systems for HPC clusters, such as SGE, LSF, or Slurm
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing HPC environments
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration, or 6+ years of experience with Linux systems administration in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating with change control and environment management, network, and security teams
  • Experience in automation of server deployment, common tasks, and installation procedures
  • Experience developing systems monitoring dashboards and using monitoring tools
  • Experience with containers, such as Singularity or Docker
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
