About The Position

Winpak Control Group Inc. is seeking a HP Press Operator to join our Printing Department based out of Norwood, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the printing press to produce high-quality printed materials that meet customer specifications, safety standards, and cGMP requirements. This role requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and effective communication to ensure efficient production and consistent quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience with HP Digital Press or similar printing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of press mechanics, inks and print quality controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and production documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a regulated manufacturing or cGMP environment.
  • Advanced press troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, adjust, and shut down the printing press in accordance with job specifications and operating procedures.
  • Read, understand, and execute work based on job Spec Sheets and customer-approved samples.
  • Program press controls including print repeat, material thickness, registration, drying capacity, and web tension.
  • Blend, tone, and apply inks and coatings to achieve approved color standards.
  • Monitor press performance, ink flow, viscosities, ovens, chilling systems, and diagnostics throughout the run.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections, including color registration, consistency, dot gain, print length, trim, and adhesion.
  • Identify, flag, and document defective material; pull and retain QA samples from production rolls.
  • Communicate effectively with press crew, supervisors, QA, art coordinators, and plate makers regarding quality or specification changes.
  • Direct and support press crew activities; assist with training and prioritization.
  • Accurately record production data, including setup, run time, and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant work area.
  • Perform pre-make-ready activities for upcoming jobs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
