About The Position

The primary function of the Sergeant is to assist the Chief of Security with the protection of OCHA residents and property, investigations, apprehension of suspected criminals, routine security functions, supervision and training of personnel. The work hours for this position are not standard. The employee must be available to work evenings and weekends. This position is considered Safety-sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in law enforcement or security work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to meet and satisfy the requirements set forth in Title 59, Oklahoma Statutes, Section 1750.4(H)(2) for Armed Security Guard.
  • The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others, deals tactfully with the public, and retains proprietary information as confidential.
  • Must possess strong human relations skills.
  • Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to comply with Authority attendance policies.
  • The ability to possess and be able to maintain CLEET armed security license.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate and maintain proficiency in firearms.
  • Should possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and supervises daily patrol activities.
  • Ensures compliance with Security Department policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves daily written reports.
  • Investigates complaints from residents and counsels with residents.
  • Assists in making arrests.
  • Maintains excellent working relationship with City, County, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies to provide maximum resident protection.
  • Maintains an excellent knowledge of City-County ordinances, State Laws, and criminal and civil processes.
  • Counsels, directs, and evaluates security personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
