About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program. The role also involves guarding the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required
• Six months experience working with the public
• Experience work in a security or social service environment preferred
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
• Narcan training

Responsibilities

• Monitors client's behavior and activities to ensure compliance with program, and facility rules guidelines; directs clients in a trauma-informed way of the appropriate behavior in order to stay in the program/facility.
• Provides security for the building and grounds by being aware of activities happening in residential dorms.
• Performs intake for clients checking into the shelter, maintains an accurate record of the shelter intake bed list.
