About The Position
This position is responsible for monitoring the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program. The role also involves guarding the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required
- Six months' experience working with the public
- Experience working in a security or social service environment preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
- Narcan training
Responsibilities
- Provides security for the building and grounds by being aware of activities happening in residential dorms.
- Maintains awareness of activities occurring outside of the building, ensures that vehicles are parked in designated areas, and prevents property from being vandalized.
- Monitors telephones, security cameras, and fire alarm systems; notify proper authorities and supervisor when emergency assistance is needed.
