About The Position

The Housing Manager plays a critical role in supporting individuals receiving behavioral health and supportive services by ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment. This position oversees daily housing operations, coordinates services across departments, and ensures compliance with agency policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role includes management and coordination of transportation services to ensure residents attend required appointments, services, and program activities. The Housing Manager may also be required to drive residents or travel between housing locations, including occasional travel to Richmond, VA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One to two years of relevant experience (including military or self-employment)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and maintain professional boundaries
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work respectfully and non-judgmentally with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a residential setting
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, and perform moderate physical activity
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, kneel, and stoop as needed
  • Ability to work in high-acuity or high-stress situations

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in behavioral health, residential programs, or work with offenders and/or at-risk populations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resident intake and discharge processes in collaboration with external referral sources and clinical staff
  • Ensure completion of intake documentation prior to resident arrival
  • Distribute initial hygiene and food kits upon admission, as appropriate
  • Document resident belongings at move-in and move-out
  • Monitor resident activities, visitors, and access to the residence
  • Provide direct, non-clinical physical support to residents with daily living and household tasks
  • Conduct room and facility searches in accordance with agency policy and applicable guidelines
  • Coordinate and manage transportation for residents
  • Schedule transportation services, assign drivers or vendors, and track resident trips
  • Ensure residents arrive at appointments on time and in compliance with program requirements
  • Drive residents or travel between housing locations as needed, including occasional travel to Richmond, VA
  • Communicate transportation needs and issues with clinical, housing, and leadership teams
  • Manage and maintain staff schedules across all housing locations
  • Collaborate with Transportation, Clinical, and Center-Based Service teams to ensure residents remain actively engaged in authorized services and treatment
  • Participate in housing, interdisciplinary, and team meetings as required
  • Conduct regular inspections of bedrooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are met
  • Maintain access control, including lock codes and security documentation
  • Conduct weekly fire drills and maintain required fire safety logs
  • Monitor residents, guests, and staff for compliance with program rules and safety expectations
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing and maintain accurate records as required
  • Identify, document, and report incidents, rule violations, and safety concerns in a timely manner
  • Submit incident reports to the Clinical Director per established timelines
  • Escalate concerns to leadership or emergency personnel when clinically or operationally indicated
  • Manage resident incentive programs in accordance with program guidelines
  • Oversee eviction processes, including required documentation and coordination
  • Maintain and update “Do Not Return” lists
  • Track, inventory, and order hygiene, food, and cleaning supplies on a weekly basis
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations
