Community Access is seeking a Housing Intern to participate in an on-the-job training program. This program will assist the intern in obtaining skills relevant to direct social services with individuals who have a history of homelessness, substance use, and a psychiatric diagnosis. The intern will learn skills related to assessing and identifying service needs and gaps within assigned programs. Participants will also provide one-to-one therapeutic support, assist program participants in advocating for quality care from external service providers, and potentially provide referrals for treatment for psychiatric disabilities, substance abuse, and health problems. Harm reduction strategies will be used when working with individuals engaging in behaviors that may pose risks. At the conclusion of the internship, performance feedback will be provided.
