  • High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record).
  • Employees who incur $2,000 or more per year in company-related travel expenses will be required to obtain a Corporate Credit Card. Employees who incur less than $2,000 per year in company-related travel expenses will be required to have sufficient personal credit to cover their business travel costs.
  • InterNACHI certification required. Employment opportunity is contingent upon obtaining the InterNACHI certification (Interim and Full CPIs). Within the first week of employment, you must pass the InterNACHI Interim Certification and obtain the InterNACHI Interim certification.
  • Fully InterNACHI Certified. Complete 90 hours of CEU's in the first 12 months. No later than 12 months after joining the program, attain the Full Certified Property Inspector designation through InterNACHI.

  • For FLS Inspectors: Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Safety Management, or a related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Performs QA/QC inspections of building systems, which could include Electrical, Mechanical, Fire & Life Safety, and/or Structural components to ensure quality standards and engineering specifications.
  • The building types and building equipment could include commercial, residential, and/or industrial.
  • May also perform various building assessment-type projects.
  • Each inspection program may include client specific protocols as outlined by leadership team.
  • This position requires extensive travel to client project sites.
  • Conduct on-site inspections building systems, structural integrity, and safety compliance.
  • Collect and document data using web-based programs, tablets, or other electronic tools.
  • Review and analyze construction plans, specifications, and maintenance records for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify deficiencies, hazards, or non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, including photographs and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, ASME).
  • Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other inspectors to maintain inspection consistency and quality control.
  • Stay updated on evolving building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain project-by-project communication with senior management and insure continued flow of information regarding any issues or potential problems which may occur during a site deployment.
  • Meets or exceeds performance objectives for productivity and report quality.
  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients’ needs.

  • Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV’s quality standards and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintains safe and clean work area/spaces by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • May be required to work overtime with prior authorization from supervisor and/or Program Management.
  • Conducts housing inspections of military structures using established protocols/guidelines provided by the military or relevant authorities.
  • Verify homes on military bases comply with safety regulations and standards, identifying / reporting any safety hazards promptly.
  • Uses tablet for live data collection into web-based program to report on the condition of the property (including interior and exterior elements, structural components, plumbing, electrical systems, overall safety features).
  • Uses tablet to provide photographic documentation to visually document the condition of each housing unit. Include images of any identified issues to support the inspection report.
  • Ensures adherence to standardized checklists and inspection procedures provided by the military base or relevant authorities.
  • Identifies and collects information on mechanical equipment for multiple property types, single-family homes, multiplex homes, townhouses, row houses, multifamily apartment complexes and barracks, and generates report on the condition and/or deficiencies.
  • Conducts interviews with the on-site representative and/or individuals knowledgeable about the subject property as applicable.
