About The Position

The Housing Coordinator provides housing counseling and search assistance to help Veterans secure safe, permanent housing. This involves building relationships with landlords, supporting Case Managers on housing solutions, and connecting Veteran households with community resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, human services, social work, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• At least two years of experience in housing services, real estate, leasing, or sales.
• Experience with homeless populations, Veterans, or other vulnerable groups is highly desirable.
• Strong networking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client data systems such as HMIS.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing search assistance and housing counseling to Veteran households.
• Maintain and update landlord and affordable housing resource lists.
• Negotiate and facilitate relationships with landlords.
• Support Case Managers in developing housing-first solutions to housing crises.
• Assist with payments of temporary financial assistance to third parties.
• Ensure timely, compliant screening and documentation of referrals.
• Conduct outreach through Continuum of Care forums and community partnerships.
• Lead the Case Management meeting and support team professional development.
• Attend relevant meetings and events.
