About The Position

The Housing Construction Coordinator will coordinate housing construction projects, helping participants receive improvements to their homes. This role offers hands-on training and certifications, allowing individuals to grow their skills while contributing to the community by creating real change.

Requirements

  • Housing & construction knowledge: Familiarity with housing conditions, construction practices, and building codes.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and community partners.
  • Technology skills: Comfortable completing basic computer tasks and learning new systems.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and stay detail-focused.
  • Project oversight: Ability to oversee construction projects and ensure bid and project requirements are met.
  • Minimum: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to two (2) years of post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect & Assess Homes: Visit participant homes to identify construction needs and ensure work meets program guidelines and regulations.
  • Manage Housing Projects: Develop scopes of work, coordinate bidding, and oversee housing rehabilitation projects from start to finish.
  • Monitor Construction Work: Conduct inspections to ensure quality, timely completion, and contractor compliance.
  • Support the Participants: Guide households through construction and financing processes while addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Track & Report Progress: Maintain documentation, monitor budgets and timelines, and submit required reports.
