About The Position

Housing Community Assistants (HCAs) are employed to work in the Office of Housing and Residential Education to assist with administrative tasks. This role requires the student employee to perform administrative tasks such as lockouts, filing, answering phones, and acting as a referral agent. They will also assist with opening and closing procedures, including key packets, room checks, crowd control, and other move-in related functions. A key aspect of this role is working collaboratively as a team member with other HCAs, the Residence Education team, and university partners like food services, maintenance, front desk staff, and public safety.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. (Summer exception: student can maintain employment without being enrolled if pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester).
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. (First-semester students can work without an official GPA).
  • Federal Work Study students may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Have lived in an on-campus facility for at least one academic semester.
  • Plan to live on campus for the semester in which they are employed.
  • Be in good standing with Berklee (academically, community standards, financially, etc.).
  • Maintain a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Responsibilities
