About The Position

This part-time clinician role will provide client-centered and client-driven services in client homes (group setting) that will focus on community support in apartment, conflict resolution, symptom management, group services/outings, and more. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong commitment to helping individuals in need. Chestnut Health Systems is a provider of behavioral and primary health care services. This rewarding opportunity provides direct care on Friday from 3:00 to 11:30 p.m., and/or Saturdays from 3:00 to 11:30 p.m. at our housing site in Pontoon Beach, IL.

Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and be a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) in good standing with the State of Illinois; OR have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field; OR have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field and be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC); OR have a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field.
Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable (when applicable).
Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR).
Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.

Responsibilities

Provide client-centered services: assessment, therapy, community support, and medication management.
Use evidence-based practices for skill development and facilitate individual, roommate, family, and group therapy.
Connect clients with additional clinical resources.
Assume a leadership role with minimal guidance and oversight.
Promote the recovery model: trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
