About The Position

Responsible for the proper cleaning of rooms, halls, offices, and all public spaces; light maintenance duties and servicing guest needs. This role requires providing the highest quality of service to the guest at all times, ensuring all public areas meet cleanliness standards and are guest-ready. The Houseperson will also assist room attendants, deliver supplies, collect trash, respond to guest requests, perform floor care, assist guests with the front door and baggage, and undertake minor maintenance tasks. Additional duties may include assisting housekeeping and laundry operations, snow and ice removal, and ensuring meeting rooms are set-up and clean. A thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and the Associate Handbook is required, along with adherence to all company policies and work rules. Safety standards must be practiced at all times, and hazardous conditions should be reported or corrected immediately.

Requirements

The ability to communicate with our guests in English is necessary to give them the service level expected.
Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds; push and pull 100 pounds.
Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the standards of appearance.
Must be thoroughly familiar with Associate Handbook.
Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate Handbook.

Responsibilities

Clean and inspect all public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have are met and that all areas are guest ready.
Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens.
Deliver linens and necessary supplies to room attendants.
Collect trash throughout the hotel including: room attendant’s carts, vending areas, offices, trash receptacles, and restrooms.
Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
Shampoo carpet, strip and wax VCT floors, and steam clean ceramic tile throughout hotel on a regular basis.
Assists guests with front door and in unloading baggage from vehicles.
Assist in other minor maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters, replacing light bulbs, checking pool chemicals, plunging toilets, changes batteries, etc.
Assist housekeeping and laundry operations as needed.
Assists with snow and ice removal as necessary.
Ensures meeting room is set-up, clean and ready for guest use.
Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions.
Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
