About The Position

The Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is an upscale hotel located across from the Woodfield Mall and just 15 minutes from O’Hare. An integral part of the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg’s success will be attributed to this position with a hands-on approach to guest satisfaction and service team stewardship that will dictate first and lasting impressions people have of the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg. We are currently seeking a Houseperson for the overnight shift. Join our dynamic hospitality team as an Overnight Houseperson, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our hotel. This energetic position is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive during nighttime hours and take pride in creating a welcoming environment for guests. As an Overnight Houseperson, you will ensure that all public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house spaces are spotless, well-maintained, and ready for the next day’s operations. Your dedication to cleanliness and attention to detail will directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the smooth functioning of our hotel.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services within a hotel or hospitality environment is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning
  • Strong understanding of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and proper equipment use
  • Experience with industrial or commercial cleaning practices is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeper management experience is advantageous but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and stairwells to uphold high standards of hygiene and appearance
  • Conduct floor care procedures such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces throughout the property
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks in guest rooms when needed, ensuring rooms meet cleanliness standards before check-in
  • Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety regulations
  • Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report them promptly
  • Support custodial operations by managing industrial cleaning tasks in back-of-house areas or service corridors
  • Follow established hospitality protocols to deliver exceptional service while adhering to health and safety guidelines
