About The Position

This is a full-time Houseperson position at The American Club. The role involves maintaining guestrooms, working areas, and hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner. Responsibilities include dusting and polishing metalwork, collecting soiled linen, maintaining housekeeping carts, removing trash, and refilling linen and guest amenities. The Houseperson will also deliver items to guest rooms upon request, perform Room Attendant duties when necessary, and assist Room Attendants with heavy lifting and furniture placement. The role requires prompt response to guest and department requests, identification and reporting of maintenance issues, and maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor. Adherence to uniform and grooming standards, and radio usage are also part of the job. This position is onsite in Kohler, WI.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Prior hotel/lodging experience is preferred but not required (level I).
  • Candidate must speak, write, and/or understand English preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Dusts and polishes metalwork.
  • Collects soiled linen for laundering.
  • Maintains housekeeping carts.
  • Removes trash collected by Room Attendants.
  • Walks all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect newspapers, trash, soiled linen.
  • Picks up clean linen and refills the par stock of linen on each floor closet.
  • Delivers towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.
  • Performs duties of Room Attendant when necessary.
  • Sorts linen, stocks room, and attendant closets.
  • Refills the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor closet.
  • Helps the Room Attendants with heavy lifting as needed.
  • Cleans all hotel guest corridors while following department standard operating procedures.
  • Assists Room Attendants with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc.
  • Reports missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
  • Responds at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
  • Takes up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
  • Adheres to uniform and grooming standards as assigned by venue.
  • Uses radio to relay info.
