The Houseperson is responsible for the efficient and correct setup of tables, chairs, platforms/stages, and other equipment according to group requirements. This role involves checking and adjusting temperature and lighting, ensuring electrical hook-ups are functional, and securing cords. The Houseperson provides audio-visual services, including setup, user instruction, takedown, and secure storage. They also handle the pickup and delivery of materials for functions, service and freshening of function rooms during breaks, and the breakdown of equipment. A key part of the role is returning unused equipment in clean condition to its proper storage area and maintaining neatness in function and equipment storage areas. The Houseperson performs deep cleaning of function areas as assigned, must be punctual and presentable in uniform, attend department meetings, and maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when interacting with guests and associates. They are expected to perform other duties as requested by management, report any guest dissatisfaction or significant issues to management, and comply with all policies and procedures, including safe work habits and emergency procedures. This role also involves writing shift reports, including incident reports for theft, accidents, or injuries when assigned, and checking with a manager before leaving the work area. Special projects and additional responsibilities may also be assigned.
