Requirements

  • Hotel Operations or Customer Service preferred.
  • Communicate effectively with others.

  • Skilled in working with multiple computer programs.
  • Standing/Walking: Constantly. For varying lengths of time, often long periods.
  • Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Bending to vacuum and perform cleaning duties.
  • Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Stooping to vacuum and perform cleaning duties.
  • Reaching (Overhead/extension): Frequently. To perform cleaning duties.
  • Fingering/Feeling: Frequently. Move fingers, hands and arms quickly and easily to handle linen, glasses and amenities.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequently. Pushing 200-pound carts.
  • Lifting/Caring: Frequently. Lifting 50 lbs maximum.

Responsibilities

  • Stocking housekeeping supplies for the various housekeeping functions in the hotel.
  • Cleaning the guest hallways and other hotel areas as assigned.
  • Delivering all items requested by guests.
  • Immediately responding to any potentially dangerous conditions such as wet floors.
  • Removing trash from trash cans in the hallways, guest rooms and other areas and depositing in the dumpster.
  • Shampoos carpet and provides floor care when needed.
  • Maintaining housekeeping storage rooms with linen and supplies.
  • Assisting Room Attendant with preparing guestrooms (ensure they have appropriate supplies available, strip vacant guestrooms, remove trash).
  • Transporting linen to and from laundry to storage.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of guest hallways, elevators, carpet edges, and stairwells.
  • Ensuring the dye program for rags is being followed by housekeepers and notifying Supervisor of any deviation to the program.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
  • Displaying courteous behavior with guests and team members.
  • Reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensuring hotel equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Performing any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Using devices to communicate with team members and to complete checklists daily (i.e. Alice system).
