About The Position

Environmental Services Technicians play a vital role in preventing the spread of infection by cleaning and disinfecting patient and non-patient areas, properly handling waste, and maintaining a sanitary healthcare environment. This position does not provide direct patient care but is essential to supporting exceptional patient outcomes. Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • 0-1 year preferred related experience
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
  • Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient and non-patient areas according to established schedules and infection prevention standards.
  • Remove and properly dispose of waste, including regulated medical waste, following hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain assigned areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition at all times.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support department operations.
  • Operate environmental services equipment, including floor machines, buffers, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training, attending a minimum of eight department meetings annually.
  • Support a positive patient and visitor experience by ensuring a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained healthcare environment.
